DESIGNING SUCCESS: Unveiling of Kokomo's in the Mall of America Marks the Latest Collaboration Between Apropos and Famed Restauranter Dave Anderson Minneapolis, MN - The opening of Kokomo's Island Café at the Mall of America in November wrapped up another successful year for Minneapolis-based scenic studio Apropos, and marked their latest project with "Famous" Dave Anderson. Over 550 guests were greeted at the door opening night by the studio's giant carved tiki gods and a lush tropical setting. "My passion is creating restaurants that are visual delights and I have found an understanding partner in Jamie Reich," Dave Anderson said of his work with the studio. "He and his incredibly talented staff can transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. In a world where everything is created by computer, it is rare to find an artistic treasure like Apropos, where all that you can imagine is brought to life in full, living color." Led by President Jamie Reich, Apropos has created memorable interiors for two Famous Dave's BBQ & Blues restaurants, located in Chicago and in Calhoun Square, Minneapolis. Apropos' work can also be seen in gastronomic successes Pazzaluna Trattoria, D'Amico Cucina and Redstone Grill, as well as hundreds of other restaurants across the country. The studio, which creates murals, custom finishes, 3D and theming, completed several nation-wide rollouts in 2003, for clients like Select Comfort, Buca di Beppo, The Limited and Limited Too.
